Along with Community Inclusion Month, October can sometimes mean cooler weather and shorter days, along with Thanksgiving turkey comas and staying in curled up by a cozy fire…
Not this year!
Our Pumpkin Patch-ers headed out last weekend for a day enjoying the McMillan Farms pumpkin patch, corn maze, pumpkin smash, and a hay ride. While out and about, they were able to enjoy a balmy day of sunshine with an extra helping of fresh air.
We can’t imagine a better way to celebrate the very best part of inclusion – connecting with each other! Thanks to everyone who joined us, it was a great afternoon.
We’re so glad that Joanne, our fantastic Management Support Team Assistant, joined us out and about on the Farm for the sunshine and fun!
Super big thanks to our Home Share Coordinators (Brenda, Karen, and Thea) for their hard work organizing this event – and especially for the delicious snacks, warm beverages, and spook-tacular “go” bags! And an extra big “thank you” to Thea for sending along her great photos to share.
Missed heading out to McMillan Farms with us last weekend? Not to worry! There’s still plenty of time to check it out between now and Halloween…things will just get spookier towards the end of Community Inclusion Month! Check their upcoming events out on their website.
Join us for our SLOCAN RIVER FLOAT as we cool off from the summer heat!
On August 24th, CCSS is floating down the Slocan River again! This is another great opportunity to connect, relax, and have some fun in the summer sun. You can float down this part of the Slocan River however you please – inner tube, dinghy, air mattress, life jacket and flippers, canoe or kayak!
Please join us – and we look forward to seeing you on August 24th! See attached poster.
Thanks for joining us for our WE Day 2018 community celebrations in Kelowna and the Kootenays! We had a great time with all of you, and we are looking forward to posting photos from the events very soon.
Congratulations to our Focus Group feedback PRIZE draw winners! Thanks for sharing your opinions with us. We are going to be sharing back what we learned in our Focus Groups on our “WE HEARD YOU…” page (click here) very soon. Stay tuned!
Please see the attached event poster; all people providing and receiving support from CLBC in the area are invited to join in celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday with a BBQ, games, crafts courtesy of CoolArts, and great community party featuring a special appearance by Kelowna’s Mayor, Colin Basran.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair, get dressed in your festive Canada Day red and white gear, and come down to Mission Creek for a fun day outside in the sun.
